Lindsay Burks
CrossFit - L1, CrossFit Endurance, MS Dietetics
Lindsay Burks has always been involved with athletics including team sports like basketball, softball, and football. She began working in fitness facilities in 2004 where she motivated others to achieve their fitness and nutrition goals. She has a back ground in personal training and group fitness instruction. Lindsay’s ultimate passion with fitness is seeing others grow to love CrossFit, eat a clean diet, feel better about themselves, and feel more empowered. Lindsay has been involved with CrossFit since 2010, and holds a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer Certificate as well as a CrossFit Endurance Certificate. She graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Master of Science in Dietetics, a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. She is an adjunct instructor at the University of Central Arkansas and Ouachita Baptist University at New Life Church in Conway. Lindsay is married to Aaron, and they have a beautiful daughter, Sterling, and are expecting their second child in June 2019.
How long have you been involved with CrossFit? What got you started?
I started CrossFit in 2010 when my husband Aaron introduced me to the methodology.
What’s your favorite CrossFit move/lift? Why?
I love snatches and ring muscle ups because both are movements I never thought I would be able to perform. Once I learned them, it never gets old practicing them and improving my form.
What’s your least favorite? Why?
My least favorite movements are double-unders and box jumps because my body doesn't respond well to repetitive jumping movements.
What’s your favorite part about coaching?
I love to watch people learn new movements while improving their fitness. I love seeing them become more confident with life as well as working out.
If you’re going to cheat on diet, what’s your guilty pleasure food or meal?
I will cheat with high quality cheese and maybe chips and salsa.
Favorite hobby outside of the gym?
I don't have time for hobbies, but I spend time with family and cleaning house. :)
What keeps you coming back to CrossFit every day?
I love how every workout is different and I am never bored or stagnant in my workouts.
What’s your favorite thing about Refine?
Refine is my home away from home. I love the people we have at Refine. These people are the most kind and genuine loving people I know. I am so thankful for the members and what I learn from them every day.
